Spectacular Inter-Roma

5-3 the final score at the Stadio Meazza in favor of the nerazzurri who jump third in the Serie A table, just 5 points from leaders AC Milan. While Milan suffered another poor performance to Genoa at the Marassi Stadium terminating in a 1-1 draw, Inter seem to have found their winning ways.

Now it can be confirmed, Leonardo has brought that mystical talent to bring back the Inter we have seen in these recent years. Sneijder finally recovered from injury already scoring in his late minute performance against Bari the last game was the missing part of the puzzle for such an encounter. What a difference to see Inter's game with the flying Dutchman present.

In the second minute of the game, Maicon from the right flank faked a cross in the middle, putting it short towards Sneijder. With no marker closeby the Inter architect placed a shot right below the crossbar leaving the helpless keeper Julio, frozen on the spot.
Roma instantly responded with a few threats from both sides but found the number 1 keeper of the world, Juolio Cesar to stop them. 3 saves in one was the first mark left by the freshly recovered Brazilian.

Almost Perfect

The only spark in the current season for Inter is the coronation of Intercontinental Cup in Abu Dhabi. The last of the six possible trophies to add to the 2009-2010 season has a happy ending. A 5 out of 6 trophies by the nerazzurri deserves a standing ovation. President Massimo Moratti would still be sulking on the only missed title of the season- The UEFA Super Cup lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid.

Anyway the positive aspect is more than encouragiong since finally the "real" Inter squad with all the players back in form showed why all clubs feared this team so much. The Intercontinental cup 2010 has a few surprises in the semifinals itself. The regular finals with a Euro-SouthAmerican clash did not repeat itself. The surely predicted finals against the Internzionale of Milan and Internacional of Brazil vanished after underdogs TP Mazembe from Congo stormed to the finals beating Internacional 2-0. Inter Milan was too well prepared for the brave Koreans, Seognam. In fact apart from a few incidents, inter dominated winning 2-0.

The finals seemed unpredictable since on one hand the nerazzurri were strong favorites speaking of the technical capacity. But since the ball is round, both teams with 11 players with just 90 minutes to play, having the heart and spirit of a team like Mazembe could have a thought to finish more than just second.

With not even a minute from the whistle, Wesley Sneijder yet again suffered an injury and Benitez was forced to make the first sub. Fans seemed already disheartened when in the range of another minute a perfect exchange between Samuel Etò and Goran Pandev left the Macedonian striker with just the keeper to beat. Pandev made no mistake and placed the ball perfectly in the corner of the net. The Abu Dhabi Stadium came to life. Inter began to show their magical touches with short passes and change of play that gave the croud a great performance. The Africans seemed stuck in an Italian cobweb, with a great heart but simply helpless infront of the nerazzurri. Etò left his mark with a beautiful shot from distance.

The only stain was the performance of Argntinian Diego Milito who missed easy chances to seal the result. In the second half Mazembe put in their final efforts and came close to scoring with stingin crosses from the right flank. Inter suffered but defended well and the young substitute Biabiany put in the third goal of the game, 5 minutes from the final whistle.

Milan: A big Future Plan in hand

Pundits and fans are a little worried about the surplus lot of experienced players in AC Milan's squad. Yet with consistent form, their pockets seem to be bursting with cash as well.

Its' the classical "third and final act" of the player's career. All the big ones yet old want to continue playing(see Ronaldinho), plus maintain their wages even though years pass by they expect their wages never to be brought down. Well when it comes to one player it can be taken as a simple pain in the stomach, though digestible. With Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Massimo Ambrosini, Gianluca Zambrotta, long lost Jankuloski, Filippo Inzaghi, Clarence Seedorf, Massimo Oddo and to a certain extent Andrea Prilo in the Milan squad it is "a little more" than just a pain in the stomach. Not to count the huge wages paid for champions like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho. A pretty long list to be taken care of for Vice President and Chief Executive Adraino Galliani as well as the Italian Premiere himself.

No need to worry! The Milan red devil's owner Silvio Berlusconi has an ace in his pocket as it comes to thinking of the club's future. He did it when Ibrahimovic was thought to be unreachable and in such a crisis getting a second star like Robinho too! So why worry?

Inter: A 'midfield triumph'

nter Milan still struggling to find their form this season put up a show at the San Siro against Parma. The match gave a good performance from both sides in the early minutes of the game. Hernon Crespo, former Inter Milan player who recieved a warm welcome from his ex fans before the game, were left gaping when the Argentian gifted Parma with an early 4th minute goal. A cold shower for the defending Serie A champions and more worries for Inter coach Rafa Benitez.

The home side tried finding space in the Parma defence but little seemed to be the outcome. The absence of players like Maicon, Julio Cesar and Samuel were definitely visible. With more than 12 players not available for the coach Benitez, today finally the fans get to see Esteban Cambiasso in the formation and Thiago Motta at least on the bench.

Dejan Stankovic levelled the score with a long range strike and a lucky deflection to stun goal keeper Antonio Mirante. A sign of relief for Inter quickly turned to a celebration as the Serbian midfielder out in a second. His specialty as always, a long range shot converted from a tricky pass by Inter's youth team talent Biabiany. Along with the goals Inter grew with time taking more ease in controlling the game.

Internazional's problem continues

Since the begin of the 2010-2011 season, its a completely different story for Inter. The expectations have gone way below the margin. After dominating the domestic league for 4 years, winnimg club's most prestigous trophy as the Champions League, the nerazzurri have transformed their greatness into smoke.

The team is unrecognizable. The players seemed to have lost their talent. Just like in the Spacejam movie starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Toons. The impecable striker Diego Milito who left his mark in every game last season has notbeen consistant. Very few games due to his degenerated form and partly due to injury. Wesley Sneijder, the Dutch midfielder that gave Inter a march up and brought Holland to the finals in the World Cup, has yet to be given a vote above 5,5 in his performances this season. Maicon, the tireless right defensive winger that noone could stop, the Brazilian star that can defend and score goals at any time, has found his mortal ways too.

With all these difficulties world's number one keeper Julio Cesar, so as Motta, Cambiasso, Milito,Sneijder, Samuel, Zanetti, Lucio, Stankovic and Chivu have been missing from action for long. When the second line-up is meant to be finally be ready for their chance and show their worth, destiny grants another misfortune......further injuries. Mariga, Obi, Materazzi, Santon, Muntari as well as the second goal keeper Castellazzi have somehow managed to make it to the clinic.

Boston Red Sox owners takeover Liverpool

Liverpool currently dealing with relegation threat issues, have another obstacle on their way. Drowned with a heavy economical crises, the Anfield club are rumored to have a change in management. These issues could cause further lack of concentration that could come to a tragical conclusion, if the players do not focus on their objective. Liverpool's troubles off the pitch have coincided with the reds in-game performances, making their worst start to a league campaign since 1953-54, when they were relegated. Torres is not the same poker boy as the previous seasons. Gerrard has the same courage of a warrior but can't be a one man army 24,7. The team is struggling to find its form and soon there might be changes in the dressing room if the results don’t improve. The situation: Liverpool is on the verge of a change in management. Who? The Boston Red Sox baseball team owners.

But the takeover by the New England Sports Ventures (NESV) is not welcomed by the US owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett. The two had already attempted to sack managing director Christian Purslow and commercial director Ian Ayre in a last-ditch bid to keep control of the club.

Liverpool's much criticised owners tried to replace Purslow and Ayre with Hicks's son, Mack Hicks, and Lori Kay McCutcheon, a vice president at Hicks Holdings.

Hicks and Gillett are understood to have argued that the club's English directors were not acting in the best interests of Liverpool and that the NESV bid, as well another undisclosed offer from Asia, “dramatically undervalued the club”.

Premiere League: Reds in trouble,Blue's form continues

Liverpool’s debacle continues, now struggling in the unexpected zone of relegation. The 18th spot wasn’t the story the reds planned to be having this season and their owners can’t seem to help much in the occasion since the sport is not much their piece of cake. A 1-2 loss at home, in the Anfield Arena against a humble Blackpool side definitely doesn’t seem to be showing much effort from the players either with all due respect to the visitors promising performance so far. The reds now out of the Carling cup and 18th in the Premiere League have a brief period thanks to the international fixtures to decide their future.

Another Chelsea triumph that shreds the hopes of the followers. This time it was the gunners who took the knock. It seems worrying to see that even though Chelsea did not play well, the blues still got a 2-0 victory against one of the teams most likely to fight for the title. Nothing doing, this time as well, Didier Drogba seems to be the dark night playing against the gunners. In 13 of the games played against Wenger’s men, the Ivory Coast striker has gone in goal on 13 occasions. Wenger seems to be running out of ideas to threaten the leaders of the Premiership. Fabergas and company should take some extra responsibility to make that difference that could lead them to success. There is no doubt they did have the opportunities in both halves to make it big. It’s the philosophy of soccer, if you don’t take your chance, you’re gonna get one. Well, Arsenal had theirs. Chelsea thanked them for not optimizing and continue their way up the ladder.
